Fellowship
The members of Covenant Presbyterian Church share each other’s joys and help bear one another’s burdens.

Sunday Fellowship
Members of the church meet every Sunday at 10:30 a.m. for fellowship between Church School and worship.

Wednesday Night Suppers
Church members meet Wednesday nights at 6:30 for a supper. Choir practice and Youth follow at 7 p.m.

Youth
Youth (grades 6 to 12) meet Wednesdays at 7 p.m. and Sundays at 5 p.m. for worship, fellowship and fun. Under the direction of a church staff member, the youth study the Bible, go on mission trips and have fun in the well-equipped Youth Room. Movies, pizza parties and other outings are also regular events. Youth have the opportunity to participate in mission work days at the Presbyterian Children’s Home in Talladega and at Wilcox County. Youth can attend camps at Gulftreat and Montreat Youth Conference. Covenant has a Youth Advisory Member to the Session to advise the session on issues of interest to the youth.

Children
Children meet with a church staff member for Children’s Worship after the Word for Children. There they learn about the basic parts of worship. They greet one another, sing a few songs, listen to God’s Word and then respond to God’s Word, usually by coloring. Each Sunday the children learn a new story. Some of their favorite stories include Jesus’ Baptism and Jesus in the Wilderness.

This year the children were given the opportunity of participating in Operation Christmas Child. It is a program that allows us to share God’s love with millions of poor, sick and suffering children by sending them shoe boxes filled with toys, school supplies, candy and other gifts. These Christmas presents not only bring joy to precious girls and boys, but also open their hearts to hear about Jesus Christ. The Covenant Kids expressed concern for the children who may not receive a Christmas present and did not even know about Jesus. They were excited about the opportunity to help and put together very thoughtful boxes that were sent out all over the world.

Covenant Kids are responsible for collecting attendance sheets after worship. This gives them a sense of responsibility and encourages them to be more active in church. Another way of getting the children more involved in church was by starting Fellowship Friends. This idea was suggested by one of the children, and has turned out to be a lot of fun. Each child is paired with an adult in the church, and they write each other letters about twice a month. The adults have been wonderful participants, and the children are very excited about having a new, older friend.

Special Events
Covenant members enjoy special events throughout the year, including an Easter Program and egg hunt, a Christmas play, a Spring Fling talent show and a Fall Festival.

Women of the Church
Every woman who joins Covenant Presbyterian Church automatically becomes a member of Covenant Presbyterian Women. Not all of them are members of a circle, but they serve the church in various capacities, including Session members, choir members, Church School teachers, worship service ushers, members of committees on the Session and preparation of food and flowers.

Covenant Presbyterian Woman have three circles—morning, afternoon and evening. The morning circle meets at 10 a.m. the second Wednesday of the month, September through May. The afternoon circle meets on the second Monday at 2 p.m., and the evening circle meets on the first Thursday at 7 p.m. in member’s homes.

In addition to circle meetings, CPW meets jointly in September, January and April for a luncheon and program. Circles alternate preparing the food and securing the program. In April, we have our annual Presbyterian Women’s Birthday Offering. Each year five different recipients are selected.

CPW members also make quilts for needy children and operate a stamp ministry, whose proceeds help spread the gospel in Latin America.
